Martin is a teacher and lecturer and also works as a designer. He has recently completed projects for Tate, Barbican and Oxford Brookes University. His work has been published by the BBC and Routledge.

As an artist Martin's practice centers on sound and music, especially field recording and improvised composition, but extends into the visual through score writing and print making. Recent projects have been released through The Sonic Art Research Unit and Suppedaneum.

He lives and works in Japan.
